Our process, end to end
The 10 steps behind every on-page engagement
This is the full sequence, not a highlight reel: every engagement moves through the same ten steps, scoped to how many pages are in play and how competitive each one's SERP is. Steps one through four happen before a single word is rewritten, because on-page work done in the wrong order (rewriting before resolving cannibalization, or optimizing pages that were never going to move) is how budgets get burned.
01Content & Keyword Audit
Every priority page is mapped against its target keyword, current position, search volume, and the pages outranking it, pulled from Search Console and rank tracking, not guesswork. The audit surfaces which pages are close to ranking, which are decaying, and which are competing with each other, and it decides the roadmap.
02Intent & Funnel Mapping
Each target query is classified as informational, commercial, or transactional, and each page is assigned exactly one primary intent: the 1:1 discipline that keeps a blog post from competing with your service page. Funnel mapping also defines where each page should send its traffic next, which feeds the internal-linking pass later.
03Cannibalization Audit
We flag every cluster of pages targeting overlapping intent, then decide per cluster: consolidate the weaker page into the stronger one, differentiate their angles clearly, or redirect, whichever preserves the most existing ranking signal. This is the step most providers skip, and it's often where the fastest recoveries come from.
04Priority Scoring (Gap-to-Effort)
Every candidate page gets scored on the two axes above: how far it sits from the top 3 on the elements that matter, and how much work closing that gap takes. Small-gap, low-effort pages get rewritten first for fast wins; large-gap pages get scheduled as deliberate projects. You see the scored list before anything is rewritten.
05Title & Meta Rebuild
Titles rebuilt to lead with the target keyword and match the page's assigned funnel stage; meta descriptions written to earn the click against the specific competitors on that SERP. Because the title is the highest-leverage element on the page, this ships first, often producing movement before the deeper rewrites land.
06Structure & Direct-Answer Formatting
Header hierarchy rebuilt to mirror the query and its supporting questions, with a direct answer in the opening sentences, structured Q&A blocks, and comparison tables where the SERP rewards them. The same structure serves three audiences at once: readers scanning, Google's featured snippets, and AI engines choosing a passage to cite.
07E-E-A-T Signals
Author bylines and bios added or upgraded, sources cited inline, first-hand experience made explicit rather than implied, and review or credential signals surfaced where the topic touches money, health, or safety. These signals tell both Google's quality systems and human readers that a real expert stands behind the page.
08Internal Linking Pass
Links added from your highest-authority pages to the pages you most want to rank, with descriptive anchor text crawlers and AI engines can parse, and orphaned pages connected back into the site. The funnel map from step two dictates the routes, so informational traffic actually flows toward commercial pages.
09Schema Implementation
FAQ, Article, and Product schema implemented where it genuinely matches the content (never markup for markup's sake) and validated after deployment. This is the structured data rich results and answer engines pull from, and it's re-checked when templates change, because schema breaks silently.
10Track, Decay-Monitor & Refresh
Every optimized page enters ongoing rank and traffic monitoring. Decay gets flagged when a page starts losing ground (before it shows up as a visible drop), and refreshes are scheduled on that signal rather than on panic. Reporting ties movement to the specific changes shipped, so you can see what worked.
