Local SEO Services That Put You in the Map Pack, and in AI Local Answers

When someone nearby searches "plumber near me", "best dentist in Austin" or asks ChatGPT for a good accountant in town, three businesses get the call. Our local SEO services make yours one of them: a fully optimised Google Business Profile, NAP-consistent citations across 70+ directories, a steady flow of reviews, local landing pages and local links, measured on a geo-grid, reported every month. Order the pieces you need from $249, or run the whole programme from $499 a month.

What is local SEO?

What local SEO is, and why it's a different job from "normal" SEO

Local SEO is the practice of making a business show up when people search for products or services near them, in the Google Map Pack, on Google Maps, in "near me" results and, increasingly, in AI assistants' local recommendations. It works on three signals Google names openly: relevance (does your profile and site match the search), distance (how close you are to the searcher) and prominence (how well known and well reviewed you are online).

Regular SEO ranks a page for a keyword; local SEO ranks a business entity for a keyword in a place. That means the work happens in different places: your Google Business Profile, the directories that confirm your name, address and phone number, your reviews, and the location signals on your own site. A DR 60 website with a neglected profile loses the Map Pack to a DR 12 competitor who answers reviews and posts every week.

The same signals now feed AI. Google's AI Overviews pull local answers from the Map Pack and reviews; ChatGPT and Perplexity assemble "best X in Y" recommendations from Google Maps data, directories, review sites and Reddit threads. Getting those sources right is the whole service.

What's included

Everything a local SEO service should include

Eight components, each ordered on its own or as part of a monthly programme. Nothing here is a "tip", every item below is work we deliver and report on.

1. Google Business Profile optimisation

The profile is the ranking page of local search. We audit and rebuild it: primary and secondary categories, services with descriptions, attributes, business description, hours, products, photos and videos, Q&A seeding, booking links and the correct service area for service-area businesses.

  • Category and attribute audit against the top 3 competitors
  • Geo-grid ranking report (how you rank street by street) and a scorecard
  • Weekly posts, photo updates and Q&A on the monthly plan
  • Spam and suggested-edit monitoring so competitors can't edit your listing
Audit & optimisation $249 · management $149/mo

2. Citations & NAP consistency

Google trusts a business whose name, address and phone number match everywhere. We build listings on the directories and data aggregators that matter for your category and country, and fix the wrong, duplicate and outdated ones that quietly cap your rankings.

  • Citation audit across 70+ directories with a consistency score
  • Manual submissions to industry, local and general directories, owned by you, no rental fees
  • Cleanup of duplicates and wrong NAP data, including aggregator sources
  • Photo, video and social citations for a complete footprint
Audit $9 · 25 / 60 / 100 citations from $99 · cleanup $199

3. Reviews & reputation

Review count, velocity, rating and the words customers use are direct prominence signals, and the first thing AI assistants quote. We set up review generation that customers actually complete and respond to every review in your voice.

  • Review request campaigns by email, SMS and QR at the point of service
  • Responses to every review, positive and negative, within 24 hours
  • Monitoring on Google, Facebook, Yelp and 70+ industry sites
  • Keyword-rich responses that reinforce your services and location
Reputation management $249/location/mo · single responses $25

4. Local landing pages & on-page signals

Your website tells Google where you are and what you do there. We build one strong page per location or service area, never thin, duplicated "city pages", with embedded maps, driving directions, local proof and the schema that connects the page to your profile.

  • Location and service-area pages written for the local searcher
  • Title tags, headings and copy with city and neighbourhood terms where they read naturally
  • LocalBusiness / Organization schema, opening hours, geo coordinates, sameAs links
  • Internal links from service pages to location pages and back
Included in Managed SEO · pages from $49 via Blog & Web Copy Writing

5. Local link building

Links from local news, chambers of commerce, sponsorships, suppliers, partners and regional publications tell Google you're a real fixture in the area. We prospect and place them, the kind of links a national campaign never finds.

  • Local news and community site placements
  • Chamber, association and sponsorship listings
  • Niche edits in regional guides that already rank
  • Guest posts on city and industry blogs from our marketplace
Guest posts from $22 · niche edits from $69

6. Keyword & competitor research

Local searches are short and specific. We map the "service + city", "near me" and neighbourhood queries that actually convert, check which competitors own each Map Pack, and find the gaps in their profiles, categories and reviews you can exploit.

  • Service and location keyword map by search volume and intent
  • Competitor Map Pack analysis: categories, reviews, citations, links
  • Geo-grid baseline so every change is measured against a starting point
Included in every audit and programme

7. Technical & mobile foundation

Most local searches happen on a phone in a car park. Slow, broken or unindexed pages lose the click even when you rank. We fix the crawl, speed and mobile issues on the pages that matter for local conversion.

  • Core Web Vitals on location and service pages
  • Click-to-call, directions and booking buttons that work on mobile
  • Indexation, canonical and hreflang checks for multi-location sites
Included in Managed SEO · SEO audit from $399

8. Tracking, geo-grid reporting & AI visibility

Average position means nothing in local search, you rank differently every few blocks. We report on a geo-grid, on calls, directions and website clicks from the profile, and on whether AI assistants recommend you.

  • Monthly geo-grid rank map per location and keyword
  • GBP insights: calls, direction requests, website clicks, photo views
  • Review velocity and rating trend
  • AI check: are you named for "best [service] in [city]" in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews

How the Map Pack decides

Relevance, distance, prominence, and what we can move

Google says local results are ranked on three factors. You can't move your building, so local SEO is the work of maximising the other two everywhere the searcher might be standing.

1

Relevance, does your profile match the search?

Categories are the single strongest lever: a dentist listed only as "Dentist" loses "emergency dentist" and "cosmetic dentist" searches to a competitor with the right secondary categories. Services, products, attributes and the words in your reviews and posts all add relevance. We rebuild these against the queries that bring customers, not the ones that sound nice.

2

Distance, how close you are to the searcher

Fixed for a storefront, but not for a service-area business: the service area you declare, the cities named on your site and the locations of your citations and reviews all widen or narrow where you appear. Multi-location businesses need a distinct profile, page and citation set per location, sharing one across town is the most common mistake we fix.

3

Prominence, how well known you are online

Review count and rating, citation volume and consistency, links from local and industry sites, mentions in local press and on Reddit, and your website's own authority. Prominence is where a steady programme beats a one-time fix: every month adds reviews, citations and links your competitors have to catch up to.

Who it's for

Single location, multi-location, service area, different playbooks

Single-location businesses

Dentists, law firms, restaurants, gyms, clinics, salons, retail. One profile, one location page, one review engine, the fastest results in local SEO, usually within 30–60 days.

Typical start: GBP audit & optimisation + 60 citations + monthly management.

Service-area businesses

Plumbers, HVAC, electricians, roofers, movers, cleaners, landscapers, you go to the customer, so there's no storefront to rank. We set the right service area, build a page per served city and earn the reviews that mention those cities.

Typical start: GBP setup for a hidden-address SAB + service-area pages + review campaign.

Multi-location & franchise

Clinics, agencies, real-estate offices, dealerships, franchises with 3–300 locations. Each location gets its own optimised profile, page, citation set and review flow, managed centrally with per-location reporting and brand-consistent posting.

Typical start: location audit across all profiles, then a rollout schedule by priority market.

Industries we run local SEO for

The playbook is the same; the categories, review platforms and directories are not. We keep category-specific citation lists and review sources for each of these.

Law firms & attorneys
Dentists & orthodontists
Doctors, clinics & med spas
HVAC, plumbing & electrical
Roofing & home services
Moving companies
Restaurants & hospitality
Real estate & property
Accountants & financial advisers
Auto repair & dealerships
Gyms, salons & wellness
Retail & showrooms
Local SEO in the AI era

Where AI gets its local recommendations, and how we get you in them

Ask ChatGPT for "a good family dentist in Denver" and it doesn't crawl your website. It leans on Google Maps and Apple Maps data, your review profile, directory listings, local press and Reddit threads, the exact assets local SEO builds. Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode go further and surface Map Pack businesses directly inside the answer, with review snippets.

So every local programme now includes an AI layer: we check which businesses the assistants name for your top queries, make sure your entity is consistent everywhere they look (name, category, address, phone, hours, description), seed the review language and Q&A they quote, and, where it fits, add brand mentions in local "best of" listicles and Reddit threads for your city.

Common questions

Local SEO services, answered

What are local SEO services?+
Local SEO services are the work that makes a business rank in the Google Map Pack, Google Maps and "near me" searches for its area: optimising the Google Business Profile, building and correcting citations, generating and responding to reviews, creating location pages with local schema, earning local links and tracking rankings on a geo-grid. At ACG each of those is a product you can order on its own or as part of a monthly programme.
How much do local SEO services cost?+
With us, a single location starts at $249 for the Google Business Profile audit and optimisation, $149 a month for ongoing management, $99–$299 for citation packs and $249 a month for review management. A full programme with content, links and technical work is $499, $999 or $1,999 a month through Managed SEO, with no setup fee. Industry-wide, agencies charge $300–$2,000+ per location per month; the difference is usually how much of the work is actually done versus reported.
How long does local SEO take to work?+
Most single-location businesses see Map Pack movement within 30–60 days of the profile and citation fixes going live, and top-3 positions on their core services inside their main radius within about 90 days. Competitive categories in big cities (personal injury law, dentistry in a metro) take longer because prominence, reviews and links, has to be built up over months.
What is the Google Map Pack and why does it matter?+
The Map Pack (or local pack) is the block of three businesses with a map that Google shows above the normal results for searches with local intent. Around 46% of Google searches have local intent, and the three businesses in the pack take the majority of clicks, calls and direction requests. Ranking there is the main objective of local SEO.
What are local citations and do they still matter?+
A citation is any mention of your business name, address and phone number on another website, directories, data aggregators, industry sites, maps. Consistent citations confirm to Google that the business is real and located where the profile says; inconsistent ones (old addresses, different phone numbers, duplicate listings) actively hold rankings back. They matter less as a raw count than they did ten years ago and more as a consistency and trust signal, which is why our packs include an audit and cleanup, not just submissions.
Do you build a page for every city we serve?+
Not thin ones. Dozens of near-identical "plumber in [city]" pages get ignored or penalised. We build one substantial page per location or genuine service area, with real local content, directions, reviews and schema, and let the profile's service area and citations cover the rest.
Can you do local SEO for a business without a storefront?+
Yes. Service-area businesses hide their address on the profile and declare the areas they serve; the rest of the work, categories, reviews, service-area pages, citations that match, is the same. We set this up correctly from the start, because a wrongly shown home address is the most common cause of suspended SAB profiles.
How does local SEO help with ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Perplexity?+
AI assistants build local recommendations from Google Maps data, reviews, directories, local publications and community threads. Local SEO makes those sources consistent and positive; our AI layer checks whether you're named for your top queries each month and adds brand mentions in local listicles and Reddit threads where you're missing.
Do you offer white-label local SEO for agencies?+
Yes. Every service on this page comes with a white-label report, and agencies managing several clients get per-location rates and a dedicated account manager through the Partner Program. Your clients never see ACG.
How do you report local rankings?+
On a geo-grid: a map of your area with your rank at each point for each keyword, refreshed monthly, alongside profile actions (calls, direction requests, website clicks), review velocity and rating, citation status and the AI visibility check. Average position is meaningless in local search, so we don't lead with it.
Can I choose the sites and directories?+
Citation lists are built per category and country and shared before submission; local links are chosen from our marketplace, where you can filter by country, niche and metrics or leave the selection to us.
