One Team, Every Part of SEO, No Lock-In Contracts

Technical fixes, content, link building, and AI-search visibility all run as one coordinated program instead of five disconnected vendors. A named strategist, a monthly reporting call, and a roadmap you approve before work starts. We keep it month-to-month because we'd rather earn renewal with results than hold you to a contract, and the content, links, and accounts we build stay yours either way.

Why a managed program

Why one coordinated retainer beats a stack of vendors

SEO fails most often at the seams: between the technical vendor and the content shop, between this quarter's plan and last quarter's, between what got invoiced and what got measured. A managed program removes the seams.

A Channel That Compounds

Paid traffic stops the day the budget stops. Every ranking earned, link acquired, and AI citation won under the retainer keeps producing after the invoice that paid for it. The economics improve with tenure instead of resetting monthly.

One Roadmap, Zero Vendor Sprawl

Technical, content, links, and AI search planned from the same data and sequenced deliberately; content ships after the site can be crawled, links point where the roadmap needs authority. No two vendors optimizing against each other.

Accountability Priced Monthly

Month-to-month means the burden of proof sits with us every 30 days. A locked annual contract lets an agency coast for quarters at a time; a cancellable retainer can't afford a single lazy month.

Budget That Follows Evidence

The quarterly reallocation model moves hours toward whichever discipline produced the most movement per hour spent last quarter, so a two-year retainer in month 20 looks nothing like it did in month 2, on purpose.

Built for Both Search Surfaces

Buyers now split their research between Google and AI assistants. The same program covers rankings and AI citations from one budget, because the underlying work (schema, structure, authority) overlaps almost entirely.

Assets You Own Outright

Content, backlinks, dashboards, Search Console, and analytics accounts are set up in your name from day one. If you ever leave, the machine we built keeps running for you. There's nothing to hand back and nothing held hostage.

Sound familiar?

What people tell us about their last SEO retainer

Most companies that call us aren't new to SEO. They're recovering from it. These are the complaints we hear on discovery calls, and how a managed program is built to prevent each one.

"Our last agency sent reports we couldn't understand."

Reports full of impressions and "visibility scores" hide the absence of results. You get a live dashboard tied to rankings, traffic, and leads, plus a monthly call where your strategist explains what changed in plain language.

"We've been paying for 8 months with nothing to show for it."

Usually the retainer was spent on activity, not priorities. Our roadmap is approved by you before work starts, and the quarterly reallocation model shifts hours toward whatever the data says is actually moving.

"Every vendor blames the other vendor."

The SEO agency blames the developer, the content shop blames the SEO agency. When technical, content, links, and AI search sit under one roadmap and one strategist, there's no one left to point at.

"We're locked into a 12-month contract we already regret."

Long contracts exist to protect agencies from their own results. We're month-to-month after onboarding, with 30 days' notice and no exit fee: retention has to be earned monthly, not signed once.

"SEO and AI search feel like two separate bills."

They shouldn't be. The same schema, content structure, and authority work drives both Google rankings and AI citations, so GEO/AEO is folded into every tier instead of sold as a second retainer.

"We never knew who was actually doing the work."

An anonymous queue is where accountability goes to die. You get a named strategist at kickoff, and the work is done by our in-house team, not resold to unnamed subcontractors.

"They kept doing the same tasks every month regardless of results."

Fixed task lists are easy to invoice and hard to justify. Our quarterly review measures which discipline produced the most movement per hour spent, then rebalances next quarter's budget toward it.

"When we left our old agency, they kept the content and the accounts."

Hostage-taking dressed up as policy. Everything built during our engagement (content, backlinks, Search Console, analytics, dashboards) is yours from day one and stays yours if you leave.

"We can't tell if SEO is even the right spend versus more ads."

That's a reporting failure. Our dashboard shows organic traffic and lead deltas against the retainer cost, so the compounding math (or the case for pausing) is visible instead of asserted.

What's included

A full SEO program, not a single tactic

Every discipline below is covered in every tier: tiers differ in volume and depth, not in which parts of SEO you get. One roadmap decides where the hours go each month.

Technical Foundation

Crawlability, indexation, and Core Web Vitals monitored and fixed on an ongoing basis. See our Technical SEO page for the full checklist.

On-Page & Content

Keyword mapping, content production, and on-page optimization built around what your buyers actually search for, including AI-search phrasing.

Link Building

Targeted earned links and digital PR from sources in your category that move both classic SEO authority and AI-citation trust.

AI Search Visibility

GEO and AEO work folded into the same program, not sold as a separate budget line. See the AI Search hub.

Monthly Reporting

Live dashboard access (not just a PDF) showing ranking and traffic deltas, backlinks acquired, content shipped, AI citations tracked, and next month's priorities, walked through on a call with your named strategist.

Quarterly Strategy Review

Every quarter, the roadmap gets reallocated toward what's actually moving the needle. See our full methodology.

How the budget actually moves

The quarterly reallocation model

Most retainers spend the same hours on the same disciplines every month regardless of what's working. We don't. Each quarter, we look at which discipline produced the most ranking/traffic movement per hour spent, and shift the next quarter's hours toward it. A roadmap that says "40% technical, 30% content, 30% links" in month one might read "15% technical, 50% content, 35% links" in month four, once the technical debt is cleared and content is the clear lever left.

Worked example (illustrative)

Month 1–2: a Scale-tier client's crawl turns up major indexation issues: budget skews heavily technical to clear the backlog fast.

Month 3–4: technical debt cleared, rankings stabilize; budget shifts toward the content backlog since keyword gaps are now the bigger opportunity.

Month 5 onward: content is ranking but lacks authority to break into competitive terms; budget shifts again toward link building and digital PR.

What to expect early

The first 90 days, mapped honestly

SEO retainers earn their bad reputation in the gap between what month one promises and what month three shows. We set this timeline explicitly at kickoff so nobody is guessing about what "on track" looks like.

1

Weeks 1–4: Audit, roadmap, and access

The free audit becomes a prioritized roadmap you approve. Accounts, dashboards, and tracking are set up in your name, baselines are recorded, and your named strategist walks you through exactly what ships in the next 60 days and why.

2

Weeks 4–8: Technical sprint and first content

Crawl and indexation fixes ship first, since they suppress everything else. Where indexation was the blocker, early ranking recoveries can show here. Keyword-to-page mapping completes and the first content pieces move into production against it.

3

Weeks 8–12: Content shipping, links starting, dashboard live

Content publishes on cadence, foundational link outreach begins, and the AI-visibility baseline is in the dashboard alongside rankings and traffic. The first monthly calls have already happened; by week 12 you can see workload, output, and movement in one place.

4

Month 4 onward: Compounding, then reallocating

Content and link gains typically build over months four to nine, compounding from month twelve as authority accumulates. The first quarterly review lands here, and the budget starts shifting toward whatever the first quarter's data says is working hardest.

Where a retainer fits

Managed retainer, project work, or in-house hire?

Each model has a legitimate use. A one-off project suits a bounded problem (a migration, a single audit), but nobody owns the results after handoff. A freelancer patchwork is cheap until the technical, content, and link workstreams stop agreeing with each other. An in-house hire gives you dedication, but one person rarely covers technical SEO, content strategy, digital PR, and AI search at a senior level, and a single salary usually costs more than a Scale retainer.

A managed retainer is the fit when you want the whole discipline handled continuously, with accountability that renews monthly instead of a scope that expires. It's also the model that suits how SEO actually behaves: results compound with sustained, coordinated effort, not with bursts of disconnected activity.

Not a fixed task list invoiced identically every month regardless of results
Not a 12-month contract you have to lawyer your way out of
Not an anonymous fulfillment queue: a named strategist owns your account
Not a separate AI-search upsell; GEO/AEO is inside the same program and budget
Not a walled garden. Content, links, and accounts are yours on day one and on exit
Our process, end to end

The 12 steps of a managed SEO engagement

This is the whole engagement, from the first audit to the day you decide to scale up or walk away freely. Every account moves through the same sequence, scoped to its site and market.

01

Discovery & Free Audit

A full crawl of your site cross-referenced with Search Console and analytics: indexation health, ranking footprint, content gaps, backlink profile, and current AI-search visibility. The audit is free, the findings are yours regardless, and it becomes the evidence base for everything that follows.

02

A Roadmap You Approve

Audit findings are converted into a prioritized roadmap: what gets fixed, written, and built in which order, with the expected mechanism behind each item. Nothing ships until you've reviewed and approved it, so the retainer is spent on agreed priorities, not on whatever fills a task list.

03

Technical Foundation Sprint

The first working weeks concentrate on crawlability and indexation: canonical errors, redirect chains, robots directives, sitemap hygiene, and Core Web Vitals by template. Technical debt suppresses everything downstream, so clearing it first means the content and link work that follows lands on a site Google can actually process.

04

Keyword & Intent Mapping

Every target keyword is assigned to a page type before a word of content is written: commercial terms to service or category pages, comparison and question queries to guides. Mapping intent first prevents cannibalization and tells us which pages need creating versus improving, including the conversational phrasings AI assistants answer.

05

Content Production

Writers brief from the keyword map, not from thin air: search intent, competing pages, internal-link targets, and the questions buyers actually ask. Each piece ships with on-page optimization done (titles, headings, schema, internal links) and is structured so both Google and answer engines can extract it cleanly.

06

On-Page & Refresh Cycles

Existing pages are as much of the opportunity as new ones. We run scheduled refresh passes on pages that rank on page two, pages losing traffic, and pages whose intent has drifted, updating content, consolidating overlapping URLs, and tightening internal links, because a refresh often outperforms a new post for the same hours.

07

Link Building & Digital PR

Earned links from real editorial sites in your category (guest contributions, digital PR campaigns, and data-led outreach), paced to your site's existing authority so growth looks natural. Every placement is reported with the URL and its metrics, and links point at the pages the roadmap says need authority most.

08

AI Search Layer (GEO/AEO)

The same program is made citable by AI assistants: entity-clean schema, question-and-answer structure, comparison content, and third-party presence on the sources ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity draw from. It's a layer over the SEO work, not a second bill. We track where you're cited and where competitors are cited instead.

09

Live Dashboard Setup

Before the first month closes, you get a live dashboard (rankings, organic traffic, conversions, backlinks acquired, content shipped, and AI citations) connected to your own Search Console and analytics accounts. Because it's live, you're never waiting for a month-end PDF to know whether things moved.

10

Monthly Strategy Call

Your named strategist walks through the month: what shipped, what moved, what didn't, and why, in plain language against the roadmap you approved. Next month's priorities are agreed on the call, so the program adjusts monthly rather than drifting until an annual review.

11

Quarterly Reallocation

Every quarter we measure movement per hour spent across technical, content, links, and AI search, then rebalance the next quarter's budget toward the discipline that's earning it. It's the mechanism that keeps a long-running retainer from calcifying into the same invoice for the same tasks forever.

12

Scale or Exit Freely

When results compound, most clients scale the retainer into the disciplines that are winning. If you'd rather stop, it's 30 days' notice, no exit fee, and you keep the content, the backlinks, the dashboards, and every account we set up. The work outlives the engagement by design.

Reporting you can actually read

What the dashboard and monthly call cover

If you've ever received a 40-page PDF that boiled down to "impressions are up," this is the opposite. Everything below is visible in the live dashboard at any time, and the monthly call exists to interpret it, not to perform it.

Rankings & Traffic Deltas

Keyword positions and organic sessions against last month and last year, segmented by the page groups that matter to revenue, not a single blended line that hides which work paid off.

Leads & Conversions

Form fills, calls, and goal completions attributed to organic, tracked against the retainer cost so the return math is visible on the same screen as the activity.

Work Shipped

Every content piece published, technical fix deployed, and link placed, listed with URLs. You should never have to ask what last month's invoice bought.

AI Citations Tracked

Where your brand appears (and doesn't) in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity answers for your target queries, alongside which competitors are being cited instead.

What Didn't Work

Pages that slipped, experiments that missed, links that fell through. Reporting only the wins is how eight quiet months happen; the misses are what the reallocation model runs on.

Next Month's Priorities

The agreed plan for the coming month, in writing, before the call ends, so every report closes the loop between what was promised, what shipped, and what's next.

Plans

Plans that scale with the work

Every tier includes technical monitoring, content, link building, and AI-search visibility: tiers differ in volume and depth, not in which disciplines are covered. Because scope depends on your site, market, and competition, every plan leads to a conversation and a custom quote rather than a checkout button. Retainers typically start around $1,500/month; your exact quote follows the discovery call.

Common questions

Managed SEO, answered

What does "no lock-in contracts" actually mean?+
Month-to-month engagement after an initial onboarding period: no multi-year contract required to get started or to keep working with us.
How is this different from buying SEO and AI-search optimization separately?+
One team, one roadmap, one monthly report covering both, instead of reconciling conflicting recommendations from two vendors working from different data.
When will I see results?+
Technical fixes can show impact within weeks. Content and link-building gains typically build over 4–9 months, with compounding results from month 12 onward as authority accumulates.
Can I start with just the audit?+
Yes. A free audit is the standard entry point and becomes the foundation for the roadmap if you move forward.
What happens if I want to cancel, and is there a notice period?+
30 days' notice after the initial onboarding period. There's no exit fee and no minimum term to unlock: the month-to-month structure works in both directions.
What happens in the first 90 days?+
Month one is audit and roadmap-building; technical fixes typically start shipping in month one to two, with early wins visible where indexation or crawl issues were the blocker. Content and link-building gains build over months four to nine, with compounding results from month twelve onward as topical authority accumulates. We set this timeline explicitly at kickoff so there's no guessing.
Do I get a live dashboard, or just monthly PDF reports?+
A live dashboard with real-time ranking, traffic, and backlink data, plus a monthly call with your named strategist to walk through what changed and why.
Who actually does the work?+
Our in-house team, led by the named strategist assigned to your account at kickoff, not an anonymous queue or unnamed subcontractors.
Do I keep the content, links, and accounts if I cancel?+
Yes. Content, backlinks, and any accounts (Search Console, GBP, analytics) we set up or contribute to remain yours. Nothing gets pulled down or handed back if you leave.
How does pricing work if there's no fixed price listed?+
Because a 30-page local-service site and a multi-market brand competing on national terms are not the same engagement. Plans are scoped by site size, competition, and goals, then quoted after a discovery call. Retainers typically start around $1,500/month. The discovery call is where that becomes a firm number for your site, and the deliverables table above defines exactly what each tier covers.
